SLSC Sailing News

SAIL TO THE BAHAMAS WITH SLSC

Captain Mike Koverman will discuss the upcoming early Summer trip to the Abacos.

He will cover U.S. and Bahamian Customs requirements, costs and the logistics of the trip.

If you are interested in cruising and/ or racing, don’t miss this talk.

 

  

Come on out for the Make-Up Sweetheart Regatta and Join the Fun at the Pirates of Pendarvis Party afterward.  Start Time is 12:00 p.m. and the awards ceremony is at Pendarvis Park at the party.  Everthing else is the same in the original Sailing Rules.

benefitting The Children’s Home Society.

My dear fellows at the St. Lucie (river) Sailing club.
Man and women alike.  I was asked by our commodore Suzan Thompson to head a committee to solicit
Volunteers for four hours shift, (9:30am -1:30pm or 12pm-4:00pm) at the
Cashel Estate- on the St. Lucie River, in Stuart. From: March 6-26, 2010.
(30 minutes training provided prior to shift).

The Notice of Race for the Herb Carey / Chuck Reade Race announced the winners would be announced athe Deck Restaurant at approximately 4:00 p.m.  Some of you may have been planning to travel to the Deck by car.  This may be difficult or impossible due to a Boat Show going on there this Saturday. 

There will still be a gathering at the Deck Restaurant after the race, it just may be difficult to get there by car.  The trophies will be presented at the next General Meeting.

Hope to see you at the starting line at 12:00 p.m.

Saturday, January 16 at 11:00 a.m. Captain Jim Sharpe will be lecturing at the Arts Council  80 E. Ocean Blvd. Stuart, FL 34994 www.martinarts.org   Captain Sharpe is the author of With Reckless Abandon, Memoirs of a Boat Obsessed Life and magazine articles. He is an instructor at the world-famous Chapman School of Seamanship, and has cruised under sail and power in the U.S. and abroad.
